and proceeds to Galle. After Breakfast proceeds to Galle. Galle is
an exquisite city filled with colonial Dutch and Portuguese
history and architecture and once a major port. The imposing Fort
is a tourist's treasure; it houses the national Maritime Museum,
the National museum and the more recent (1938) lighthouse. The
Fort overlooks the sparkling turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean
and it is easy to get lost in its atmosphere, rich with memories
of a bygone era. Galle, famous for its lace, is filled with
priceless crafts and antique treasures like jewellery, ceramics,
and Dutch period furniture and brass work. The little city of
Galle is a fascinating stop, not just for historians, but for
anyone interested in learning more about Sri Lanka's historical
experience.
Galle is also a good centre for visits to Unawatuna beach.

Mirissa is one of the main beach destinations in southern Sri
Lanka. The area has it all, beautiful beaches, surf waves, whale
watching and great bars and restaurants. Mirissa is developing
quickly over the last couple of years so it’s also getting more
crowded. There are still enough spots where you can enjoy a fresh
coconut from your hammock seeing the sunset.

Today morning we will visit to everyone’s favourite hill-country
village, and the place to ease off the travel accelerator with a
few leisurely days resting in your choice of some of the country’s
best guesthouses. The views through Ella Gap are stunning, and on
a clear night you can even spy the subtle glow of the Great Basses
lighthouse on Sri Lanka’s south coast. Don’t be too laid-back
though; definitely make time for easygoing walks through tea
plantations to temples, waterfalls and viewpoints. After building
up a hiking-inspired appetite, look forward to Sri Lanka’s best
home-cooked food and a reviving cuppa.

Bentota is famed as the prime beach resort of the south-western
and southern coastal belts of Sri Lanka. Bentota Bridge and
Bentota Bay Beach just over the bridge are the most popular twin
beaches along the coast. The coast towards the further South too
is replete with lovely topical beaches making it ideal for a
perfect beach holiday with the sun and sand. With an array of
luxury hotels, facilities and amenities for the foreign tourists,
Bentota provides the perfect location for extended holidays by the
beach. Furthermore, for the lovers of water sports, Bentota, in
addition to its pristine palm fringed beaches, brings in more
pleasures nowhere else to be found. River Bentara, the legendary
river at Bentota, flows into the Indian Ocean forming a lagoon at
the last section of the river. The River Bentara and the lagoon
set up the widest array of water sports among all the beach
resorts of Sri Lanka. Jet-skiing, windsurfing, parasailing or
enjoying a romantic river safari along the clam waters are some of
the activities that are well known in the area.
