Airport - Trincomalee - Sigiriya - Kandy - Bentota -Hikkaduwa -Unawatuna-Mirssia- Tangalle-Colombo
Renowned for the golden beaches that encompass the island, Sri Lanka
has long attracted tourists seeking sand, sun-bathing, swimming,
water sports, deep sea fishing and diving. Fringed by palm trees,
with soft sand and azure waters, these beaches make an ideal holiday
location beside the Indian Ocean.
Our official representative meets and welcomes you at the Airport
and proceeds to Trincomalee. Trincomalee is a beautiful city based
in the eastern side of Sri Lanka. And is the fifth largest natural
harbour in the world. The city is built on a peninsula, which
divides the inner and outer harbours and is rated as one of the
finest of its kind in the world and attracted great sea farers
like Marco Polo, Ptolemy and Sea Traders China and East Asia from
the ancient times. Historically referred to as Gokanna or Gokarna
it has been a sea port that has played a major role in maritime
and international trading history of Sri Lanka. It is one of the
main centers of Tamil speaking culture on the island. The long and
wide beaches here offer surfing, scuba diving and fishing and
whale watching. This sea town is home to the Thirukonesvaram
Kovil, which is one of the oldest Hindu temples in Sri Lanka.
There are many things to do and see in town and the views across
the three main bays tend to be picturesque.

After Breakfast proceeds to Sigiriya. Sigiriya have been nominated
as UNESCO World Heritage Site and once Sigiriya was nominated as
the 8th Wonder of the world. The ancient city of Sigiriya is a
premier Eco tourism destination in Sri Lanka. It is also proposed
that the site should be named the eighth wonder of the world,
indicating it is in the same league as other international wonders
such as the Grand Canyon and Ancient Pyramids. Translated as ‘Lion
Rock' into English, the name of the monument indicates the way in
which visitors used to begin their final ascent to the top –
through the open jaws and throat (‘giriya') of a lion (‘sinha').
Unfortunately, the only remains of this lion figure are the
gigantic paws, sculpted into the side of the rock. We can see
surround in Sigiriya area, Dambulla Cave temple, Batik Factory,
and we can do Village tour and Elephant Back Safari.

Today we proceed to Kandy. Kandy is one of the most beautiful
cities of Sri Lanka that is known for its scenic beauty and rich
cultural value. Spread over an area of around 1940 square
kilometers, it is counted amongst the world heritage sites of
UNESCO. The city promises a number of tourist attractions that
include the Old Royal Palace and the famous Temple of Tooth. The
latter consists of the sacred relic of Buddha’s tooth because of
which Kandy is regarded as one of the most sacred places by
Buddhists. Other holy spots include the Gadaladeniya Temple and
the Lankathilake Temple. Kandy offers an exciting shopping
experience with souvenirs ranging from precious stones and
handmade laces to stone and wooden carvings. If you visit the city
in the month of August, you can get a taste of Kandy Esala
Perehera, an annual ritual of the Sacred Tooth Temple. Thus, your

Bentota is a tourist attraction, with a local airport (Bentota
River) and a handful and world-class hotels. It is a destination
for watersports. Bentota also delivers an ancient art of healing
called Ayurveda. Bentota is famous for its toddy production, an
alcoholic beverage made out of coconut nectar. It also has a
turtle hatchery, located on Induruwa beach and we can do amazing
Eco Safari in Madu River.
After lunch we proceed to Hikkaduwa. Hikkaduwa has been a firm
fixture on the Sri Lankan tourist map since the 1970s, and this
long exposure to tourism has left it a little worse for wear. A
kilometre-long strip of guesthouses, shops and restaurants lines
the beach, which is quite badly eroded in its northern stretch.
The busy Colombo–Galle Rd, with its crazy high-speed bus drivers,
runs right through the middle of Hikkaduwa, which can make
stepping outside of your guesthouse as deadly as a game of Russian
roulette!

With palm-lined beaches, turquoise waters and a good selection of
guesthouses and restaurants, Unawatuna is very popular with
travellers. The resort's location is superb, with the historic
city of Galle just 6km away and a wooded headland to the west
dotted with tiny coves.
Mirissa is one of the main beach destinations in southern Sri
Lanka. The area has it all, beautiful beaches, surf waves, whale
watching and great bars and restaurants. Mirissa is developing
quickly over the last couple of years so it’s also getting more
crowded. There are still enough spots where you can enjoy a fresh
coconut from your hammock seeing the sunset.

The palm fringed bay and picturesque coves of Tangalle are a
natural treasure. This is a lazy town littered with gentle
reminders of the Dutch days of the 18th century and beautiful
villas looking out over the shimmering sands of Seenimodera.
Located 195 kilometres form the beautiful capital of Colombo and
35km east of Matara, is a pleasant fishing port situated on one of
the finest and largest bays in the island, which is protected from
the ocean by an enclosing reef. Exhibiting fine beaches which are
good for swimming and more than reasonable for diving, Tangalle is
a popular beach destination on the south coast. It is believed
that the name is derived from ran-gala or golden rock, from a
legend that tells of a time when a holy man once partook of a meal
there, and the rock was turned to gold whilst further research
also reveals that it means the “projecting rock”, because long ago
the town was protected from the ocean by a long rocky slab that
projected into the sea across the mouth of the bay.
